KiNO! @ Estonian House Sydney on Friday, the 23rd of March!

On the program this month:

18:30 – 19:00
‘Must Peeter’ (Black Peter) – [R] 2008

WARNING: Some nudity and mild sex scenes.

From the makers of ‘Shift’, a short film by Priit Pääsuke.

A drama/comedy based on the short story ‘Black Piggy’ by Peeter Sauter.

When Peter and his wife have dinner with friends in a restaurant, they have not quarreled for almost two weeks. A new record could be in the making.
However, when a trivial argument grows into a quarrel, the night brings weird games into their relationship.
‘Must Peeter’ is a sexy, styilish black-n-white film with a nasty pulse and even nastier dialogue.
For people who like their coffee black…and strong.

Best Estonian Short Film 2008

Starring: Gert Raudsep, Tiina Tauraite, Morgan Devereaux, Tambet Tuisk, Hilje Murel ja Meelis Rämmeld

19:30 – 21:00
‘Kohtumine Tundmatuga’ (Touched by the Unknown) – [M] 2005

A film by Jaak Kilmi (Disco and Atomic War)

Mati is an assistant in a TV studio. He leads a very predictable life with his fame-expecting wife and sympathetic dog.
Patiently Mati has waited for his time to become a TV star, but it seems he has to wait forever. There’s only room for one star at his station.
One day, an alien called Tipp is sent to Earth (by its chief, Tapp) to find out the purpose of Estonian children’s TV show ‘Tipp and Tapp’ that appears on the TV station that Mati works at.
To get to the bottom of his mission, Tipp nestles himself inside Mati’s brain which leads to Mati acting very unpredictably and out of character. Suddenly, Mati finds he has become the new sensation on TV after a series of strange events.
But what will happen when Tipp completes his mission?
This zany comedy is based mostly on the real characters of the 60’s Estonian National TV show ‘Tipp and Tapp’ which lends the film its charm and story line.
It should be noted though that there has been no official sighting of the alien Tipp…but tädi Rutt still gets around.

Starring: Tiit Sukk, Raivo E. Tamm, Peeter Oja
