Festival logo launched

The logo for the 2010 festival has been selected from many great entries. The winning designer was Rob Morris and the logo features the colours of the Estonian flag (blue, black & white) and incorporates the outline of South Australia, the host state. Thank you to all who submitted a logo for the festival!

About the designer

Rob Morris is an IT entrepreneur originally from Sydney, Australia. He now lives with his wife and daughter in the leafy suburb of Kalamaja in Tallinn. He has been working in the computer industry for 14 years, specialising in the web and internet technologies for 10 years. He first discovered Estonia in 2006 while traveling Europe and loved it so much that he decided to learn Estonian – which is how he met his wife Triin, whom he first hired to teach him Estonian and to whom he proposed in a private hot air balloon over Byron Bay.

Estonian Festivals in Australia

Estonians have been holding ‘Eesti Päevad’ – ‘Estonian Days’ festivals in Australia since 1954. The first was in Sydney and since then the festivals have been held every 2-3 years in turn in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide. The next festival will be held in Adelaide in 2010.
